SUMMARY

From a Private Collection, this is a really superb example of the timeless Rickman Metisse, still in production today, in off-road trim, fitted with a period-correct BSA C15S (250cc) scrambler engine, and in excellent condition all-round.

DESCRIPTION

  • Derek and Don Rickman made off-road, race and road motorcycles using their own frame designs for fifteen years after commencement in 1960
  • Frame kits were supplied to allow home builders to fit a variety of British motorcycle manufacturer's power units, as none of the major marques would supply them with complete new engines
  • Rickman kits were well respected for their excellent fibreglass bodywork and outstanding nickel plated frames branded ''Metisse''
  • On offer here is a very well put together Rickman Metisse in Scrambler trim that forms part of our vendor's extensive collection and is currently on display in his man cave
  • He is unsure of the year of the bike, as it came with no paperwork and, as it is an off-road machine, it's not road-registered
  • Fitted with a period-correct BSA C15S (the 'S' is for Scrambler, so geared for off road use)
  • May need some light recommissioning prior to use.
