SUMMARY

Believed to be one of ten UK manuals, a box-fresh example of one of Porsche's most collectible 911s. With a manual gearbox and sunroof delete, a true collectors' car.

DESCRIPTION

Background:
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Porsche gave the world a back to basics collectors' car - a limited edition Carrera S, produced in just 1,963 units – a nod to the year the 911 was first introduced. This special edition has since been described as the 'sweet spot' in the modern 911 range, enhanced with bespoke styling touches and a generous specification of optional extras.

Marking a significant milestone, the 50th Anniversary model sends power exclusively to the rear wheels, yet it adopts the wider body of its all-wheel drive sibling, the Carrera 4. This broader stance not only gives the car a more aggressive and athletic look, but also accommodates a wider track and bespoke suspension tuning for improved dynamics.

Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical limited-slip differential – usually optional on the standard Carrera S – is included as standard, along with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the marque’s celebrated adaptive damping system.

Power comes from the familiar 3.8-litre flat-six engine producing 394bhp at 7,400rpm. While most examples were specified with Porsche’s dual-clutch PDK transmission, a 7-speed manual gearbox was also offered as a no-cost option.

Visually, the 50th Anniversary model is distinguished by several unique features. These include 20" alloy wheels inspired by the classic Fuchs design, darkened headlight surrounds and chrome detailing on the engine cover. The Geyser Grey paint finish seen here was exclusive to this model, alongside two additional colour options: a darker grey and Basalt Black. Inside, cloth houndstooth seat inserts and a commemorative dashboard plaque mark this as a true collectors' car.

The Car:
#0656 offered here is quite possibly one of the finest and most desirable examples of the 50th Anniversary 911.

Ordered new through Porsche Centre Leeds in January 2014, the car remains with its first and only owner to this day – a fact that goes a long way in explaining its exceptional condition.

Finished in Geyser Grey, the paintwork is flawless, with no blemishes or stone chips to be found. The wheels continue the theme of meticulous care, showing no corrosion on the diamond-cut surfaces and no wear on the matt black elements.

Few things are more synonymous with Porsche heritage than the classic houndstooth interior, here presented in flawless condition and adorning a set of Recaro bucket seats. The cabin is further enhanced with black extended leather and Geyser Grey contrast stitching, while the subtle green hue of the dials completes the aesthetic beautifully.

While most 50th Anniversary cars were equipped with Porsche’s PDK gearbox, it is estimated that just 10% left the factory with the 7-speed manual – making this example especially rare as it is believed less than ten right-hand drive manual cars exist. In right-hand drive, with the manual gearbox, sunroof delete, houndstooth interior and Geyser Grey finish, this car is a true collectors' piece.

Having covered just over 5,000 miles, it presents in pristine condition both inside and out, and is mechanically immaculate. The service history timeline can be found below.

This may well be a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire one of Porsche’s most collectible modern sports cars in virtually as-new condition.
