Background:

The Bentley Continental GT marked a turning point in the brand’s storied history. Launched in 2003, it was the first all-new model to emerge following Bentley’s acquisition by Volkswagen AG in 1998—and the first to be built using mass-production manufacturing techniques. A luxurious two-door coupé or convertible with four seats, the Continental GT redefined grand touring for the modern era, blending classic British craftsmanship with German engineering precision.

The success of the GT led to the introduction of the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, a four-door saloon version that expanded the lineup while preserving the GT’s blend of performance and opulence.

Among the rarest and most extreme evolutions of the Continental GT was the Supersports Lightweight model—a stripped-down, track-focused variant built for raw speed. Limited to just 100 units worldwide, this two-seater dropped approximately 250 kilograms compared to the standard car. It featured extensive use of carbon fiber, including racing-style bucket seats (shared with the Bugatti Veyron), dashboard panels, and a rear strengthening bar.

Performance was nothing short of staggering: 621 bhp, carbon-ceramic brakes—the largest ever fitted to a production car at the time—0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 205 mph. At launch, it was the fastest and most powerful road-going Bentley ever produced, and it quickly gained a reputation as the best-handling Bentley of its generation.

With its rare mix of brute force, luxury, and exclusivity, the Continental Supersports Lightweight remains a landmark in Bentley’s performance legacy—a supercar cloaked in the body of a grand tourer.

The Car

In 2005 this Bentley Continental SuperSport’s rolled off the production line at Crewe. Finished in Granite over Beluga leather and suede, the car was the delivered to its original owner by Bentley Manchester.

The condition of this example dose not match with its stated mileage, remaining in a condition of a car with substantially less miles. With not a mark in sight on any of the body panels or wheels, with all SuperSport specific trim remaining in excellent condition. This theme is carried over to the interior where there continues to be minimal signs of where in high traffic areas, with all switch gear, gear selector, carbon inlays, and seats, while the steering wheel is starting to show signs it still looks to be in good condition.

Mechanically the car feels to be in excellent condition as well. The engine pulls like nothing else with no noises or taps on idle, while the automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and rapidly between gears. The suspension also feels like new, keeping the car shore footed while still offering astonishing comfort. There are no knocks or bangs from any part of the suspension and handles extremely well given the cars weight.

Overall this is an excellent example of Bentley’s finest and fastest rendition if the Continental GT.
