DESCRIPTION
Background
On 28 September 1994, British automaker Land Rover unveiled the second generation of its iconic Range Rover, marking a significant evolution 24 years after the debut of the original Range Rover Classic. The new model arrived with notable upgrades, including a refined version of the Rover V8 engine and the option of a 2.5-litre BMW six-cylinder turbodiesel.
Designed to meet rising demand in the premium SUV segment, the second generation Range Rover introduced enhanced equipment levels and upscale trim options. With these improvements, Land Rover strategically positioned the vehicle above the Discovery in its line-up, aiming to compete more aggressively in an increasingly competitive global market.
The Car
This P38 rolled off the Solihull production line in 2001, finished in Java Black over a rare black interior, unusual, as most were trimmed in cream. The interior is immaculate and barely looks as though it has been used, with elegant wooden trims creating a refined and inviting cabin.
This Land Rover rides on 18" ‘Hurricane’ alloy wheels, enhancing both its road presence and off-road capability. Adding to its appeal is a fully operational air suspension system with adjustable ride height, unlike many, which have been converted to coil springs.
This P38 has been used as a second car and has been dry stored in a garage. It has covered just under 110,000 miles, which is considerably low for a car of its age. It also has an MOT valid until January 2026, with minimal advisories.
This Range Rover P38 is a well presented modern classic SUV that is reported to drive superbly. In HSE specification, it boasts a high level of interior equipment, offering comfort and refinement on par with much newer vehicles. The car has recently been serviced and benefits from a fully functioning air suspension system. It is ready to be enjoyed either on or off the road, as a capable and luxurious daily driver or event vehicle.
