DESCRIPTION
Background
The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was more aerodynamic, with the last one produced on 4th April 1996.
The XJS was relaunched in its final form in May 1991 under Ford Motor Company's new ownership as a division of its Premier Auto Group. Ford dropped the model name's hyphen, marketing it as the XJS. By removing the frames, the rear side windows appeared enlarged despite having identical glass apertures as the earlier cars, the windscreen was flush fitting, while the buttresses remained somewhat minimised by the new side window trim. The rear fascia and trunk lid were redesigned, with new black tinted rear lights being fitted.
The Car
This example presents in the head turning Flamenco Red hue. This is further enhanced by a striking TWR body kit which adds a bespoke front bumper, side skirts and a more prominent boot spoiler. A set of Jaguar 5-spoke alloy wheels are also fitted.
This XJS is fitted with the phenomenal AJ6 4-litre straight-six engine which is mated to the 4-speed ZF automatic transmission. With 245bhp and 289Ib/ft of torque making an accomplished long distance GT car with an impressive turn of speed when called upon.
The interior is well presented with magnolia leather seats and matching carpet sets, decked out wooden dashboards, meaning the interior is overall a nice place to be when out on road trips.
Comes complete with an extensive paperwork archive including £10,000 worth of invoices and the original book pack. With a valid advisory-free MOT until October this year, the XJS is ready to be used and enjoyed.
The Vendor says this is a very presentable and well strung together car, with it being generously guided it’s a great opportunity for any enthusiast.
