SUMMARY

Unregistered import from down under, perfect for vintage motoring.

DESCRIPTION

Background:
The Ford Model T was introduced in 1908 and became one of the most influential cars of the 20th century. Designed to be simple, durable and affordable, it brought motoring to the masses and laid the foundation for modern automotive manufacturing. By 1926, the Model T had undergone a number of refinements, with the Tourer model offering open-air practicality for families and drivers seeking reliable transport in a variety of conditions.

The Car:
This 1926 example was previously part of a private Collection in Australia before being brought to the UK in early 2024 by its current owner, who spent some time motoring in Oz in the car prior to import. It has remained in a personal, heated indoor showroom throughout its time in both countries. The car is finished in yellow with a black convertible roof and accommodates four passengers.

It is fitted with a four-cylinder petrol engine and a manual transmission. The car has been converted to electric start with key ignition from hand-cranking starting to aid usability. The chassis and engine numbers match (C74526 chassis, C74526USA engine) and the car presents with a consistent finish, reflecting the care taken during its time in private Collections.

The interior is in-keeping with the period design and the bodywork retains the correct proportions and details of the original Tourer model. It remains mechanically straightforward, making it accessible to enthusiasts who value simplicity and authenticity with some added practicality.

Whilst driven down under the car has not been used since entering the UK and will require some recommissioning. We advise that one leaf spring drop also appears to be missing. Whilst not UK-registered, all taxes and duties were paid at point of import and the car is supplied with a NOVA certificate to enable registration.

This Model T offers a usable example of early motoring history, suitable for relaxed touring or continued preservation.
