Iconic Auctioneers, purveyors of automotive excellence, is offering two standout grand tourers from the 1960s at its Iconic Collectors’ Car Sale on Saturday 23rd August during the prestigious Silverstone Festival.

1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2

1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2

Leading the sale is a superb 1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2, elegantly finished in its factory-specified Azurro Fiat blue, with beautifully preserved interior trim. Originally delivered by Lamborghini’s UK concessionaire Mitchell & Britten and expertly converted to right-hand drive by Hooper & Co., this significant example pre-dates Lamborghini's own right-hand-drive production.

It was first owned by renowned engineer Brian Morgan, featured prominently in Motor Sport magazine, who praised its reliability and effortless performance. Later acquired by construction magnate Ivan Davis in the 1970s, and cherished as part of a private collection since 1998, the Lamborghini displays an authentic 28,710 miles. It retains its matching-numbers quad-cam V12 engine and original interior, preserving details right down to the original FIAMM stickers on its air cleaners. Having received a sympathetic repaint and mechanical refresh, this elegant GT is a fine representation of Lamborghini’s original grand touring vision. (Estimate: £330,000 - £380,000).

1966 Aston Martin DB6 Mk1 Vantage

1966 Aston Martin DB6 Mk1 Vantage

Joining the Lamborghini is a highly desirable 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Mk1 Vantage, fitted with the sought-after manual ZF gearbox. Initially finished in Silver Birch, this exceptional DB6 was later restored and refinished in Slate Grey, beautifully complemented by its black leather interior. It has covered fewer than 5,000 miles since 1991, with meticulous care by marque specialists including Aston Workshop and Pugsley & Lewis. Significant recent works include an overhaul of its ZF gearbox, comprehensive servicing, and refurbishment of underbody and wheel arches. This DB6, one of only 268 Mk1 Vantage saloons built, presents collectors with an outstanding example of Aston Martin’s iconic 1960s grand tourer, ready to enjoy and exhibit at prestigious events. (Estimate: £200,000 - £250,000).

Rob Hubbard, Managing Director and Principal Auctioneer, commented: “These exceptional 1960s grand tourers perfectly illustrate the blend of style, sophistication, and high-performance engineering that defines the era. We are delighted to bring these two examples to auction as they epitomise our ethos of ‘Experts in Exceptional.’ We anticipate strong interest from collectors keen to acquire such rare and authentic examples of automotive heritage.”
