SUMMARY

Rare, 1964.5, D-Code Mustang V8 that's been carefully restored.

DESCRIPTION

  • Rare, 1964.5, D-Code Mustang V8 automatic imported by Mark Levy, well known in Mustang circles for importing quality cars
  • There is a bit of a cult following for '64-and-a-half Mustangs, not quite 1965 but not '64 either
  • The rare 210bhp engines offered the four-barrel V8 but lacked the high-performance internals
  • Subject to an almost full restoration. Attractively finished in Poppy Red
  • Engine fully rebuilt with a sympathetic 75bhp upgrade (inlet manifold and exhaust)
  • Most of the interior has been re-trimmed including new chrome, carpet and seat belts with total invoices coming to over £5,000
  • Tastefully upgraded with LED lights all around and a period-style DAB radio

Exterior

Bodywork:

Glass:

Paint:

Chrome:

Trim:

Remarks

The paint job is probably the only biggest job left on the car even though it was done 10 year's ago it has some blemishes from age related wear and tare. It is however not essential to do the paint job, more of just bringing the car to a show quality finished car. All receipts will be provided upon sale, thousands spent over the course of the time of owning the car. number plates will be installed and ready to drive away.

Interior

Door-Cards:

Carpets:

Seating:

Headlining:

Dashboard:

Boot:

Remarks

Moving on into the interior, it has a part modernised dash with the cluster being original components but with modern tweaks such as blue led lights, new fuel dial and black chrome facia panel. The radio is a stock look but digitalized with AM/FM output along with a usb point for phone connectivity. The digital antenna allows a more clean look to the car without the traditional chrome antenna sticking up from the fender. All new chrome bezels to brighten up the dash, every component is new in terms of light switch, ignition barrel except the ignitor coil as it still works! Updated the entire steering wheel column with all the components with the column itself the only thing not replaced. It could do with a new facia panel for the glove box and chrome heater switch display with that being possibly the only bits left to update

Vehicle History

Remarks

I can only provide the information ive obtained, i can confirm the car is a 1964.5 D code v8, red with red interior from iowa. restored to a usable working, driving car 10 year's ago until the major recent update's i have provided to the car.

Restoration Notes

Started the restoration in October, rewired the entire car leaving all necessary connections for any future change/install. Near full engine rebuild, dual exhaust system, fuel tank and sender unit, starter motor, power steering unit, alternator and much more! It could do with a new facia panel for the glove box and chrome heater switch display with that being possibly the only bits left to update. All the exterior lights are LED, multi colour changing halo lights for day and night time running, indicators are also interconnected with the rear led bulbs which produce clear bright visuals on all braking, low beam and indicating positions. Most of the exterior chrome is new, the chrome bump stops are just awaiting installation. The transmission, oil, power steering, water neck, rocker cover all had leak's which are now all repaired with the correct components which will allow peace of mind. The remaining part's on the car are left due to them either working or felt unnecessary to replace, the car still has its original drum setup with rebuilt shoes done a few years back. Fuel line and brake lines all work, power steering all work's along with the wiper motor. There are only a handful or original working components left on the vehicle that if the new owner chooses to update or keep it will not affect any operation of the vehicle itself.

Import Notes

Car imported last june from iowa, took around 3 month's to arrive. The car then came into my possession in late september.
