DESCRIPTION
The image taken by Dennis May is of the legendary motorsport photographer and Alfa's works driver, Franco Cortese at the Brooklands racetrack in November 1938 looking over the hugely SS Competition Spider 63995 MI (Chassis no. 815001) where both Klemantaski and the Alfa's works driver drove the car in cold and foggy conditions. The car won the 1938 championship with seven wins in eight races and was 1st in class at that year's Mille Miglia. Framed and glazed, signed to bottom left by Klemantaski, this evocative photograph measures 27cm x 23cm.
