SUMMARY

One of just 50 right-hand drive examples of the XKR-S. Sold by Jaguar Land Rover Classics Works in 2021 in 'as brand new' condition with a then 92 miles recorded and 145 miles covered since.

DESCRIPTION

The Jaguar Legacy Collection.

A carefully collated collection of landmark sporting Jaguars from the past 65 years, each one bringing something special, museum quality, very low mileage, value for money motoring or some simply being the 'best of breed'.

The mid-2000s saw a resurgence in sporting luxury cruisers by British heritage manufacturers that in the proceeding decades many would have thought impossible. Aston’s V8 Vantage and DB9 joined Bentley’s Continental GT as the benchmarks of this new renaissance. Whilst Jaguar still held its own, largely to satisfy its core demographic, but producing, like they’ve always done, faster and limited edition examples to tempt those away from Porsche and Mercedes, such as this very special motor car, one of just 50 examples of the Jaguar XKR-S in right-hand drive, finished like them all in Ebony Black with a black leather interior.

A genuinely collectible modern classic, it is powered by a 420bhp, 4.2-litre AJ34S supercharged V8 engine, driven through the rear wheels via a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission with paddle-shift gear selectors. Registered as 90 XKR on 1st September 2008 to the first of just three keepers, the car changed hands in 2008 and again in 2021, when it was sold by Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works, a sales department set up to offer the very best examples of their 'Heritage' models. According to the accompanying Jaguar Classic service and maintenance booklet, the car was sold with 92 miles in a condition noted 'as brand new' on 30th September 2021, where it joined some other special Jaguars.

It's presented to auction with just 237 miles, at the time of cataloguing, and in the condition one would expect of such a rare specimen, the book pack also includes the service portfolio booklet and driver’s handbooks. A collector level modern classic of such rarity, low mileage and provenance that is worthy of serious attention.
