Only 52 original C-Type Jaguars were ever manufactured between 1951-1953. Their legendary reputation was cemented by three Le Mans victories in 1951, 1953 and 1955. This aluminium bodied Proteus C-Type was ordered as a retirement gift by its current owner in 2007 for rallies and touring. Technical work and paint was carried out by XK Engineering and drivetrain assembly by Guy Broad. Built as a 1953 model with an air scoop on the bonnet, this Proteus boasts a brand new 4.2 litre Jaguar engine that has covered a mere 8,000 miles. The vendor reports that the car is only used in summer months, is stored in a warm and dry dehumidified garage and has been serviced and maintained over the last four years by Mototechnique Ltd.
