2005 Honda NSX Targa

All three of Ayrton Senna's Formula One World Championships with McLaren were powered by Honda engines. It is no surprise then that he was their favourite son and was gifted an NSX which still remains in the possession of the Senna family. Senna had been involved with the on-going development of the car and his recommendations had been implemented in the production process, most notably the stiffening of the aluminium monocoque, a production car first. The Honda NSX was an engineering masterpiece with the famous Honda VTEC engine technology and handling that surpassed all its supercar rivals. After all his NSX did remain one of the most cherished possessions of the greatest race driver of our generation.

On offer here is the last Honda NSX delivered to the UK and probably the lowest mileage example to come onto the market. Only two Targas were included in the last UK production run and this car, with only 7400 miles on the clock, can only be described as virtually brand new. The underside looks like a delivery mileage car.

Finished in Silverstone with blue leather, our vendor is only the second owner. It's the 3.2 litre version with the six speed manual gearbox and has a full service history. In the last two years of production only twenty five examples came to the UK, this car carries the chassis number ending in 00025 and is commemorated by the 'Last Twelve' key ring from Honda, together with two spares and the red master key. The last twelve were all finished in unique colour combinations. All the handbooks and original brochures are present.

The Honda NSX really raised the bar for other supercar manufacturers and is the most special of Japanese cars which surely can only go the same way as Toyotas' 2000GT...This NSX is without doubt the best example.
