DESCRIPTION

  • Introduced in 1997, the sixth generation of Hilux continued the model's reputation for reliability and durability
  • Major revisions came in 2001, with the introduction of the new 2.5-litre D-4D multi-valve engine, the first common-rail diesel powerplant to be used in a pick-up truck
  • Presented here in Pure White with smart 'steelies' wrapped in All Terrain tyres, these understated pickups are currently 'cool'
  • This example displays just 75,000(tbc by photos), not much in the world of Toyotas
  • Being an EX 250 model, this is the single-cab 4WD variety, arguably the most desirable
  • Over the last few years, possibly influenced by the US and OZ, medium-sized pick-ups have developed an amount of 'street-cred' and, like Land Rovers and old Volvo Estates, are classless and can be used anywhere, going to the tip or turning up at the best parties
