Vehicle History

Remarks

On test it had some mechanical issues, but it appeared an honest car with a superb body and a great interior, combined with ultra-low mileage. Little was known of the car former history, but it was known that it had been laid up for a few years. We decided to buy it and sort the issues out (with the seller agreeing to partial responsibility for some issues) thus giving a car we knew to be good as we commissioned the work ourselves. To this end, the car went straight down to renowned specialist McGrath Maserati and was given a thorough health check. Thankfully, the clutch was showing 95%, so that was a relief, but there were a number of elements that were put right including: a full service, new battery, gear-box self-learn reset, air-flow meter, replacement of all four tyres, rear track-rods and wheels realigned, steering rack gaiters replaced, subframes cleaned and re-coated with under-guard and cavity wax, air-conditioning recharge and a number of minor items resulting in a final bill of 5,300.00 pounds. Subsequently, we also replaced the rear brake shoes and readjusted the handbrake and replaced both front drop links. The sticky plastic coatings were also addressed and improved but not completely cured and we planned to replace the seven buttons most affected but have not done so as yet. Unfortunately, our plans have changed, and the car is now for sale. The car passed its MOT in August last year and will be sold with a further years MOT.
