SUMMARY
Desirable RS Cosworth in a great colour with performance and cosmetic upgrades.
DESCRIPTION
- Building on the success of the Sierra Cosworth, Ford transplanted much of the Sierra’s running gear into the more compact Mk5 Escort shell, with the hope of winning the WRC
- To homologate the car under 'Group A' regulations, a minimum of 2,500 road-going examples of the car had to be produced, so Ford’s SVO operation set about incorporating the Cosworth YBT 2-litre, 224bhp (227PS) four-cylinder turbocharged engine and 5-speed, four-wheel drive transmission into the as-yet unreleased Mk5 Escort
- This example was imported into the UK from Japan by our vendor in 2023
- Finished in Mallard Green with white OZ-Racing alloys, with a customised interior in black and blue
- Work carried out by RS specialists Graham Goode and Portech Performance in 2024 total over £4,000 with invoices in the file
- Service/maintenance invoices from Japan and in the UK by our vendor are included in the file
- 28,100 miles indicated. MOT until February 2026

Remarks
The bodywork appears to be rust free, the paint work is good and the underside is very good.

Remarks
The interior whilst customised has been done very well and I would think cost a lot of money to complete. The finish on the dash board and door cards continues onto the headlining into which LED interior lighting has been fitted. The front seats have been changed but the rear seats are the original black leather as fitted to the Lux version RS.
Engine

Remarks
The car drives perfectly and is very quick having had a large turbo fitted and also an expensive LinkG4 Engine Management System which allows for detailed engine management as found in race cars.

Remarks
The refurbed aftermarket front brakes are again to a racing specification and haul the car to a stop very quickly. All the tyres are good, as are the electrics having had a new fuel pump fitted by R&G Automotive. The white OZ Racing alloys are not scuffed.
