Rare in the UK, this all-white version of the Golf GTi 'Quartett'  is back in top form after a recent £8,000 refresh.

DESCRIPTION

  • Introduced in 1989, the Volkswagen Golf convertible 'Quartett' (spelt with two 't's by VW) offered 64 different permutations from the four exterior colours, four interior colours, four soft tops and colour-coded alloys
  • First registered on 09/03/1989 and supplied new by Peter Cooper Southampton, which continues to be the city’s VW dealer
  • Finished in Alpine White (L90E), retaining its matching white manual roof and 'HA' white cloth sports seats
  • Original Avus alloys newly refurbished and Diamond cut with white inserts. New Falken tyres
  • Believed to have been stored by its previous owner from 2011-2022, recent expenditure of circa £8,000 has bought this car back to life, all documented in a extensive history folder and in the vehicle condition report
  • A Blaupunkt Series 400 retro radio has also been fitted, although it looks like an original one it enables Bluetooth audio streaming, phone connection and DAB radio
  • Will be driven over 120 miles to the sale
  • Supplied with original handbooks, stamped service book, one key and the current MOT with no advisories until July 2024

The £8,000 refurbishment work included thoroughly cleaning the underbody and removing all old dirt and old protective products. A new sealant was applied to keep the car protected. • Wheels fully refurbished by Lepsons specialist wheel centre with paint to match the bodywork. This included powder coat strip, re-finish, re-diamond cut and balance tyre to the wheel Four new 185-65-14 Falken Tyres • Brake callipers refurbished, stripped, pistons renewed, all seals replaced and finished in OEM original silver • Pagid front brake discs (pair) and new brake pads, brake fluid change and flush New exhaust (very difficult to source) Complete suspension arm with connecting bushes (pair both sides) and spring kit in all four corners using original equipment; new front and rear shock absorbers pair using Sachs products Wheel alignment service following suspension repair with printout set to manufacturer settings
