DESCRIPTION

  • In 1982, some 'unofficial' Clan Crusader body moulds were bought by Peter McCandless who started a new company, Clan Cars Ltd, in Newtownards, NI
  • We understand that about 120 road cars and ten competition cars were built over the next four years
  • In 1985, Clan Cars developed a new, mid-engined version called the Clan Clover which utilised a 1,490cc, 105bhp Alfa Romeo flat-four engine and gearbox
  • This remarkably well-preserved example is believed to be #13 of the 16 produced and presents well in glorious red paintwork with grey-piped red sports seats and sits on colour-coded, split-rim, compomotive alloys
  • Over £19,000 in invoices from a classic vehicle specialist document a thorough mechanical overhaul in 2020 including an engine rebuild, gearbox, brake system, fuel system, tyres and running gear
  • A photographic account from the initial thorough inspection through to reassembly shows professional attention to detail 
  • There is an active Clan Owners Club with parts-support and various exclusive events
  • Very well presented and obviously cared for, this rare Irish classic will surely turn heads and provoke conversation at any classic car show
