SUMMARY

Very well presented in Rhodium Silver over Mulberry leather, this manual gearbox V12 XJ-S benefited from nearly £50,000 of investment a few years ago.

DESCRIPTION

  • Acquired by our vendor over 15 years ago, this manual gearbox V12 XJ-S has been a joy to own however, by 2017, it was in need of attention in a number of areas
  • Sussex-based Robin Lackford was approached to quote for the work to return the car to top form and at this point, it was noted that in the past the car had been fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox, TWR injection intake trumpets and a heavy duty Dana Spicer rear diff, suggesting that the car may have been subject to engine upgrades, but this has not been established
  • An initial 'tidy-up' turned into a bit more and between June 2017 and July 2018, a total of £47,595 was invested in this lovely XJS including over 720 hours of labour and £10,800 in parts
  • There is far too much to detail here (full breakdown and invoices in the file) but the work included a twin headlight conversion, bodywork repairs, prime and full repaint in Rhodium Silver, new Webasto sunroof (£2,814), trim, windows, front and rear suspension rebuild, Dana Spicer axle rebuild, brakes, electrics, new wheels and much, much more
  • As can be seen from our images, the results were very impressive and the restoration has stood the test of time well. We invite and encourage your viewing of this rather special XJ-S and its history file at our Bicester Sale
