DESCRIPTION

Based on the Type 116 Alfetta, the Giugiaro-penned Alfetta GT, later named GT Veloce and abbreviated to GTV, turned an unremarkable saloon into a pretty, rakish coupé
The distinctively modern hatchback styling had been developed by Ital Design and given form by Alfa's own styling department
Arriving in 1976, the 2-litre engine utilised twin-choke carburettors and a 9:1 compression ratio to raise output to a very healthy 130bhp and the top speed to 200kph
Finished in Rosso Alfa, this late-production example has benefitted from over £20,000 in restoration costs in recent years
Owned by our vendor for ten years, it will come to the sale with a fresh MOT
Everyone should own an Alfa at least once and a well maintained GTV offers the enthusiast a great deal of fun for a modest outlay
