Very rare, early, 103bhp, 1,600cc GTi recently subject to a £25,000 restoration and in superb order throughout.
DESCRIPTION
- The 205 GTi has long been regarded as one of the finest hot hatches ever produced, mating a featherweight chassis with superbly communicative handling and a rev-happy, naturally-aspirated engine
- First registered in 1984, this early pre-Phase One is powered by the 1,580cc XU5J engine producing 103bhp (the 115bhp, XU5JA engine arrived a little later)
- Having had just one previous owner, our vendor felt that it was the ideal basis for a full restoration
- Carried out during 2021/2, the restoration was fully photo-documented and represented an investment of £25,000. The essence of the restoration was to return the car to its pure original showroom specification
- The car now presents superbly in Futura Grey with a classic black and red interior and sitting on 'pepper pot' alloys
- Supplied with photographic evidence of the restoration, receipts for all work carried out and pleasingly still retains its original Philips radio-cassette player
- This early example from the first year of production is a rare find and with just one previous owner and in superb condition throughout, we believe it is not to missed

Any vehicles not collected by this time will be transported to a secure storage facility in Northampton by our transport partner EM Rogers, the charges for which are £175 plus VAT for removal and £10 plus VAT per day for storage. We will make contact post-sale to confirm how you will be removing your vehicle(s). If we do not hear back from you by 5pm on Sunday evening, we will arrange collection with EM Rogers on your behalf.
