1978 / 1991 Ram 427 SC AC Cobra

The Ram Cobra was conceived in the early 1980s by Adrian Cocking, the tubular space frame chassis being designed by Formula 1 Designer, Adrian Reynard. In 1985, Autocar Magazine carried out a full track test at Brands Hatch pitching the Ram against the BRA 427, a Gravetti, a Python and a Dax. The then current Saloon Car Champion, Andy Rouse, drove all cars back to back. His conclusion was that the Ram was "head and shoulders' above the opposition in terms of handling and road-holding. In Europe, a French company ran a one-make race series with over 30 Ram Cobras lining up on the grid, often driven by ex-Formula One drivers. The Ram is still being further developed today by Cheng Lim of Thunder Road Cars, who are considered by many to renovate and race the quickest and best handling bespoke Cobras available in Europe. Rams were the only worldwide recreation Cobra at the time to be granted personal approval by Carroll Shelby. Because of their ability, rarity and heritage, Rams have become very sought-after and collectable Cobra Replicas.
