SUMMARY
323i E21-based Race Car requiring recommissioning.
DESCRIPTION
• Never road registered as it was built for circuit use from the start
• Our vendor believes that this car may have been one of the 12 built by Tom Walkinshaw for the the1979 BMW County Championship, however, that can’t be established
• It’s currently fitted with a 2.0-litre, 6-cylinder, M20 unit fuelled by 3 twin-choke, side-draught carburettors
• We are advised that at some point it was run on a ‘rolling-road’ and output at the flywheel was around 240bhp
• It’s reportedly still in excellent health, despite not having been used for the last six years
• With its deep front air dam, 2002 Turbo arches and rear wing, the car looks every inch a 70s circuit racer, however, it’s currently set up for rallying or track days
• Having last raced in 2008 and laid up for the last six years, the car will require some recommissioning and interested parties are advised to view the car and decide for themselves how much work would be required to return it to the circuits
• Included is a Brian James Clubman Trailer with a manual hydraulic pump.
