SUMMARY
A fabulously original, running and driving example of an untouched former Fire Engine, showing just 8,367km from new.
DESCRIPTION
- Last of the MkI range, built in March 1977 as confirmed in a letter from Ford meaning it benefits from front discs and servo assistance
- Originally used by the German fire brigade as an Auxiliary vehicle for the carriage of water barrels
- Incredibly rare to see in this unrestored, original condition having been kept in two private Collections and reportedly never seeing a rainy day
- The van was first registered in the UK in 2009 with its MOTs backing up the continued low UK mileage of just 8,367km. In addition to the MOT history there is a Transit Operators Manual and a correct Haynes Ford Transit Manual
- As with many of the German Fire Engine Transits, this is an LWB with twin side rear doors and one-piece lift-up tailgate remaining in its original left-hand drive configuration
- Unrestored and showing no signs of previous welding with original chassis, floors, outriggers, sills and paint
- All body panels, wings, doors, bonnet, tailgate and valances appear factory-original with very good panel fitment
- Paintwork presents well inside and out, with a few very minor markings inside the van as expected from usage, the overall paintwork is remarkably well preserved
- Retains its original front seats and interior trim, in lovely condition having benefited from wearing seat covers during its UK tenure
- Starts, runs and drives well, powered by its original 1,996cc four-cylinder engine
- A true time-warp commercial vehicle in fabulously unrestored, untouched and well preserved condition
- An ideal opportunity for Ford collectors and enthusiasts of British Commercial Vehicle history
