Remarks
On purchasing the car in 2020 I engaged the services of a company involved in the restoration of classic cars. The car was handed over in June 2020 and stripped down to the bare chassis. It was apparent that fabrication works were required as there was rust present in a number of places. It was decided that the floor of the car in the car needed to be removed and replaced, the boot floor needed the same treatment, as did the driver side inner wing and the bulkhead panel. All this work was subsequently carried out by the same company.

Remarks
During the extensive works it was decided that if any parts were substandard that they were to be replaced and with this in mind, the following parts were replaced: Both door cards. The bonnet and boot lids as they had rust present. The hood was replaced by a new vinyl one and a tonneau cover purchased along with the new spare wheel cover and wheel spinner mallet. The steering wheel was replaced by an new Moto-Lita version along with the boss. The dash was recovered and any gauges that showed signs of corrosion were replaced. The rev counter and speedometer were retained as the speedo shows the extremely low mileage.

Remarks
The engine although it has only done 15,500 miles was removed and painted and fitted with a new aluminium rocker cover, the carbs were re-furbished and the exhaust system replaced with a new stainless steel one. The engine runs like a dream and shows very high oil pressure which you would expect from such a low mileage car.

Remarks
The wire wheels were replaced by new chrome wires and new tyres all round along with the old spinner which were replaced by new chrome ones. The brakes were renewed and all the wiring was traced and tested. This necessitated the replacement of the coil and starter relay and the conversion of the old ignition to electronic to improve efficiency.

Remarks
The finished car looks a treat and drives extremely well. I honestly cannot think of anything that needed doing, that was not done. I have enjoyed the challenge of the build and refurbishment, but find that at my age getting in and out of the car a challenge, so I have decided that someone else should have the pleasure of owning it.
