SUMMARY

A late 1960s Porsche 911T that remains remarkably original, presented in period Bahama Yellow it looks, feels and drives exactly as a classic 911 should. Utterly wholesome and offered from 24 years of long term ownership.

DESCRIPTION

Offered at the Silverstone Festival 2025 is this unrestored 1969 Porsche 911T, finished in Bahama Yellow with a black interior. This left-hand drive, US-market example was imported into the UK in 1999 by a specialist dealer, who submitted it for its first MOT and subsequently registered it as WVO 510G.

The current owner had been searching for a good 3.2, as values at the time had softened, but upon viewing this Bahama Yellow 2.2T they were taken by its character and purchased it immediately. It has remained in their ownership ever since and is now offered from 24 years of long term custody, appearing fresh to the market.

During this time, the 911 has been very much part of the family, witnessing the arrival of two sons who have since grown into young men. It has provided countless opportunities to enjoy the rolling landscape of the South Cotswolds in the pure, unfiltered way that only a classic 911 can deliver. These memories form an important part of the car’s story and add to its appeal.

Maintenance over the years has largely been entrusted to a single technician, Mike at Autofarm 1973 Ltd. Having been with the business since 1975, Mike is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable classic 911 specialists in the country. Invoices on file document a comprehensive fuel system overhaul, a full engine rebuild in 2017, carburettor refurbishment and various other works including a safety update with new seatbelts. The history file also contains old MOT Certificates. At the time of cataloguing, the V5C was temporarily misplaced but a replacement has been applied for and is expected to accompany the car by the time of the sale.

We welcome any inspection of this 911. Upon viewing, it is clear that this example remains remarkably original, retaining features often lost over time such as period badges, interior trim and finishes and precise panel gaps. It starts readily, settles into a smooth idle and runs with a healthy note. The few imperfections it carries are a testament to its originality, offering a refreshing contrast to the over-restored, no expense spared examples that dominate the market.

While it may not appeal to everyone, those who value Porsche purity, mellow originality and authenticity will appreciate this 911. It is a car that will continue to create lasting memories which ultimately is what classic car ownership is all about.
