SUMMARY
With its incredible rarity, fabulous restoration and timeless colours, this MkII Mini is really rather special to say the least.
DESCRIPTION
- A rare and desirable, Australian-built Morris Mini Cooper S MkII, UK-registered with the odometer showing just 32,002 miles
- Presented in timeless Connaught Green with a gloss white roof and correct black interior
- Subject to a meticulous nut and bolt restoration including a bare-metal strip down, powder-coated subframes, engine and gearbox rebuilds and all suspension, brakes and ancillaries refurbished or replaced to a high standard with all bills on file
- Retaining its original body shell and factory sills, with its chassis number confirming its provenance as a seldom seen MkII example built at BMC's Zetland factory in Sydney
- Uniquely configured for the Australian market with wind-down windows, quarter lights and exterior door hinges, while retaining sought after MkI features such as smaller tail lights, grille, rear window and twin fuel tanks
- Formerly part of a private Collection in Florida before returning to the UK, the V5 correctly lists the car as a 1,275cc Morris Mini Cooper S
- Subtly uprated during its time in the US with Hi-Lo dry suspension and Spax shock absorbers in place of the original Hydrolastic system (fluid lines preserved for easy reversion) and fitted with period-style Australian Minilite alloy wheels
- Recognised as one of the rarest Mini Cooper S models, it features in The Car: A History of the World in 150 Cars by Key Publishing
- An exceptional and highly collectible Mini, blending rarity, provenance, originality and expert restoration — ready to show, drive or preserve
