SUMMARY
Ex-Oselli Works car, fully rebuilt by Peter May three years ago with very little use since. A super entry-level FIA racer that seems remarkable value in today's rarefied Historic scene.
DESCRIPTION
This well sorted, FIA-papered, 1963 MG B was purchased by our vendor in 2019 from Oselli Engineering, having been used by them as their Works car for a variety of events over previous years.
Primarily, it was bought to run in the Spa 6-Hours and did indeed run that year in the 3-hour race, however with the arrival of COVID in 2020 and no motor racing anywhere for the foreseeable future, the decision was taken to comprehensively rebuild the car. This work included an engine, gearbox and differential rebuild, all carried out by the renowned Peter May Engineering Ltd.
Fully prepared for the 2023 Spa 6-hours, it subsequently finished well running strongly with an overall midfield result and since then it has enjoyed outings in the Guards Trophy with the HSCC.
With FIA/HTP current until 31st December 2029, it's supplied with its V5C and a good spares package with endurance events in mind. The spares include rear brakes and springs, a rear wheel cylinder, front wheel bearing kit, oil filter, clutch slave cylinder, headlight, front crossmember and springs, gearbox mounting, clutch release bearing, brake pads, anti-roll bar drop link, new spark plugs, control arm, oil pump, timing chain, brake bleed screws and five wheels and tyres.
Well presented in classic 1960s Iris Blue with a white hardtop and silver Minilites, combined with its Oselli pedigree, this is a super entry-level FIA racer with access to some lovely events and must represent value in todays rarefied Historic scene.
