SUMMARY

Series IIA Truck Cab. Full Restoration with new galvanised chassis and bulkhead. Great History and mileage. Bronze Green with new Exmoor canvas hood.

DESCRIPTION

  • The Series IIA revised version of the Land Rover made its debut in 1961 and is regarded by many Land Rover aficionados as the version that Rover got right, being generally thought of as the most durable and easily repairable of the Series Land Rovers.
  • The original buff logbook shows Lady Olive Lawson-Johnston as the first owner. She was the granddaughter of the founder of Bovril and lived on the island of Eilean Shona in Loch Moidart where the Land Rover was used to carry feedstuff for her animals and other provisions to her boat. This quiet life ensured little use and low-mileage (currently 20,268)
  • During the car's most recent ownership, Olive as the car is affectionately known, has been subject to a ten year restoration. Parts, where possible, were refurbished, including the engine and gearbox
  • She now has a new galvanised chassis and refurbished and galvanised original bulkhead, along with new parabolic springs, Autosparks wiring loom, new Exmoor canvas hood and many other new parts. Upgraded to alternator and converted to negative earth
  • The history file contains numerous invoices supporting the work and the Heritage Certificate confirming the date of manufacture
  • Olive was featured in Land Rover Monthly in August 2021.
