SUMMARY

A fine example of the rare, post-1952, swinging-arm Model 7 Dominator. Benefitting from recent maintenance, regularly started and running and riding. Would fit well into any Collection of post-war British Classics.

DESCRIPTION

  • This motorcycle was purchased at the Shuttleworth Summer Sale in July 2025 (Lot 551) and has since covered approximately 90 miles. It remains in excellent mechanical condition. Regrettably, due to the new owner’s previous disability, he has found the bike challenging to ride and is now offering it for resale - a reluctant but genuine decision
  • Norton jumped aboard the vertical-twin bandwagon in 1949 when it introduced the Model 7 Dominator
  • The new 500cc engine went into the existing ES2 plunger-frame/tele-fork cycle parts, a marriage that necessitated a redesign of Norton's well proven 4-speed gearbox
  • The Model 7's first major revision arrived in 1953 in the form of a new swinging-arm frame
  • Dating from 1953, this example presents in decent all round condition
  • Whilst much of the bike appears original, there is evidence of an older part restoration, the tank is well finished in light silver with red and black coachlines and the seat looks almost new
  • UK-registered on a current V5C
