SUMMARY

A wonderful opportunity to build on this project Daimler with possible Royal Family history.

DESCRIPTION

  • Interesting history including a place in at least two transport museums during its lifetime
  • Built in 1936 and first registered in May 1938 when it was retired from ceremonial duties
  • Believed to have spent its first two years in service with the British Royal Family and, as is the custom with Royal cars, was not formally registered until it was demobbed when it received the number HMX 900. (NB Not confirmed but seems likely)
  • Our vendor had set about a thorough restoration of the car, but ran out of time to complete
  • Much of the running gear has been attended to (see the condition report for more detail)
  • Little history then exists until it was acquired in 1985 by the Wickett Museum, and subsequently, the Bradworthy Transport Museum in Devon in 2004
