Three Watercolour Storyboards from the famous 1966 film Grand Prix plus accompanying literature

Drawn on period art board from Colyer and Southey, a known supplier of art materials for the arts and film industries in the 1960s.

On one storyboard where the two cars are drawn crashing as they exit the tunnel, there is a written note on the lower left near the sandbag barriers which says: “Sandbag barrier or type of barrier used in 66 race” also “Sea” and “Harbour Wall”.

Accompanying literature including:

• 1x 24 page A4 original colour brochure for public attending the screening of Grand Prix 1966 in the cinemas.
• 1x 24 page A5+ original B&W “media information” booklet with different information and images about the Formula One season and the Grand Prix 1966 film.
• 1x 52 page A4 original Official Programme for the 1966 British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch which also includes a 1x page A4 flyer inserted into the programme inviting members of the public to return to Brands Hatch on the Monday immediately after the Grand Prix to be part of the filming of the Grand Prix 1966 film.
• 1x 26 page A4 colour brochure entitled “Graham Hill Grand Prix Racing Book” which is dated to 1966, and includes a fantastic fold-out centre 6 page spread cutaway diagram of the 1966 BRM F1 car.

As all the associated documents all relate to the filming which took place in 1966, it is fair to assume that the accompanying brochures and other literature were used for research during the film’s production.
