DESCRIPTION
Background:
The Ford Focus RS500 made its global debut at the Leipzig Motor Show in April 2010 and marked the final swansong of the second-generation Focus RS. This more powerful, limited-edition model was launched as the ultimate performance Ford for serious enthusiasts.
The RS500 designation highlighted its strictly limited production run of 500 individually numbered vehicles. It featured a muscular 345bhp, 2.5-litre, five-cylinder engine, generating 15% more power than the standard Focus RS and delivering truly exhilarating performance. The RS exuded menace with its gaping grille, 19" wheels, flared arches, deep diffuser and large rear wing, leaving no doubt about its intentions.
The limited edition RS500 was even more dramatic, sporting a unique matt black finish with matching alloy wheels that gave it a powerful visual impact unmatched by any other production Ford. The last of these remarkable vehicles left Ford’s assembly plant in Germany in September 2010.
The Car:
Offered here is number 456 of the 500 built, first registered in the UK on 2nd October 2010. This UK-supplied, right-hand-drive example is one of just 101 allocated to the UK market and had covered around 22,200 miles at the time of cataloguing. The RS500 has been professionally rewrapped in Heat Wave Yellow matte and is paired with the standard black interior.
The accompanying service book contains 11 stamps, all from TrustFord Bradford. The most recent service was carried out in August 2023 at 22,118 miles, which included a belt service. Since then, the Focus has been professionally stored and lightly run on a monthly basis, as the owner moved to the US for work and has now decided to sell due to a permanent stay. The car has also been issued with a fresh MOT, valid until 10th September 2026. Please note that the private registration is not included.
Every RS500 was sold before a single customer had the chance to drive one, a fact that speaks volumes about its status as a future classic. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a low-mileage, well maintained RS500 and join an exclusive club of owners.
