DESCRIPTION
Background:
Hand-built at Castle Bromwich in the West Midlands, the Daimler Super Eight represented the pinnacle of Jaguar’s X350-series saloons. Distinguished by its unique grille, luxury-focused specification and extended wheelbase, it was the most refined model offered by the marque and marked the final chapter for the Daimler nameplate. Powered by a supercharged 4.2-litre V8 and equipped with advanced aluminium construction, the Super Eight combined formidable performance with limousine-grade comfort and was produced in very limited numbers before production ended in 2008.
The Car:
Supplied new in Japan and registered here in 2021, this Daimler Super Eight is one of the final cars built and presents in the striking combination of Ultimate Black Mica Pearl with Ivory leather. It is a right-hand drive, long-wheelbase example and has covered 74,000 miles from new. Factory-fitted with a comprehensive specification and featuring no aftermarket modifications, the car remains in original condition throughout and benefits from a full service history. Being a Japanese car it has benefitted not only from sympathetic ownership, but also from a lack of salt on the road for a good deal of its life.
Inside, the cabin is appointed with double-glazed acoustic glass, four-zone climate control, electric tilt and slide sunroof, heated steering wheel, 19-inch Daimler alloy wheels, xenon headlamps with power wash and D-monogrammed headrests. Driver comfort is enhanced by electric seats, pedals and mirrors with memory function, speed limiter and radar-guided active cruise control.
Rear-seat passengers are treated to electrically reclining individual seats with memory, three-stage heating, TV screens, rear entertainment console, picnic tables, rear door blinds and an electric rear screen blind. The car is also fitted with a factory Alpine sound system and sheepskin over rugs.
Recent maintenance has been extensive, with itemised invoices totalling over £10,000 within the last five years. These works include:

• Suspension modules, arms and bushes
• Gearbox mount
• New spark plugs
• New handbrake motor
• Full bodywork detail with ceramic sealant
