Background
Developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering division in partnership with Cosworth, the Sierra RS Cosworth was launched in 1986 as a road-going homologation special to underpin Ford’s 'Group A' touring car ambitions. Powered by the turbocharged 2-litre YB engine, delivering 204bhp in standard form and featuring rear-wheel drive, uprated suspension and distinctive aerodynamic enhancements, the RS Cosworth quickly earned a reputation as a formidable driver’s car. Its motorsport pedigree and road usability has ensured enduring desirability, with Moonstone Blue examples becoming especially sought after.
The Car
First registered in 1987, this Sierra RS Cosworth has covered c.110,000 miles and is finished in Moonstone Blue, one of the most recognisable factory colours for the model. It wears a RS500 body kit and now sits on O.Z Racing Alloys.
The exterior is described to be in lovely condition, with bodywork and paint presenting well, the alloys are in lovely condition with them still having an abundance of tread and life in them. While the interior remains tidy and well kept, showing its careful use over its lifetime.
