DESCRIPTION
Vintage Motorcars of California Inc., based in Hawaiian Gardens, California, is a recognised builder of high quality Porsche Speedster, 550 Spyder and 356 Coupé replicas and has been in business for over 30 years. Their philosophy is encapsulated in the motto 'quality not quantity', and over the decades they have earned a solid reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, precision fit and finish, and meticulous attention to detail. Each car is hand-assembled in-house, allowing complete oversight of every stage from body assembly to final alignment. Vintage Motorcars offers a range of options, from kit or turn-key builds to multiple engine and chassis configurations. Greg Leach and his skilled team maintain full control over materials and components, combining timeless design with reliable modern performance.
Offered here is an exceptional Porsche 550 Spyder replica. Beautifully engineered by Vintage Motorcars of California Inc., it features a tubular chassis, independent rear suspension, disc brakes, remote gear selector, pedal box and a raspy 2-litre air-cooled flat-four engine. Together, these components create a lightweight, high performance machine that delivers strong performance, excellent handling and impressive stopping power.
Visually, the car is superb. The well fitted composite body is expertly finished in Porsche GT Silver and dressed in period style livery inspired by the world-famous 1954 Fletcher Aviation-sponsored, Hans Herrmann Carrera Panamericana race car. The cabin continues the theme, trimmed in brown leather with Oatmeal carpeting and a neatly detailed dashboard fitted with VDO style gauges. Other period touches include leather clam straps, race-style flyscreen, body-coloured removable passenger tonneau cover and Spyder badging.
Fresh to market from a private collection of landmark sports cars, this superb 550 Spyder replica was previously enjoyed abroad before returning to the UK, where it was registered in October 2024. It's accompanied by a detailed history file containing the V5C registration document, an MOT Certificate valid until April 2026, and an invoice for recent maintenance and cosmetic works including the application of its period style livery, totalling over £6,000 (June 2025), along with various supporting invoices and registration correspondence.
Most recently, the Spyder completed a spirited drive from West London to the Cotswolds, performing faultlessly throughout. Described by our vendor as 'remarkably rapid', it never fails to attract attention often convincing onlookers that it’s a genuine multimillion-pound sports racer.

Uplift by EM Rogers back to their storage facility in Northampton is £175 plus VAT. Storage is £10 plus VAT per day for the first seven days and £40 plus VAT per week thereafter.
