DESCRIPTION

  • Built purely for straight line drag and sprint racing, this unique Ducati 916/996 Drag Bike was born from an idea to do something no one else had done
  • Drag bikes built using Japanese large-capacity, inline four-cylinder bikes are quite common, but no one had converted the exquisite Ducati 916 to compete in this arena
  • Based arounf a modified 916 frame and engine, the bike has evolved over the years and now uses a race-tuned 996/996SPS engine fitted with 996 crank cases with full 996SPS engine internals, with cylinder heads ported and polished by Moto Rapido, race cams and vernier pulleys
  • Fuelling is controlled by a modified engine managment system with adjustable chip and a custom-made exhaust system
  • The bike has been lengthend by changing the headstock angle and fitting a bespoke custom swingarm. An Aprilia RS125 front end was fitted, Ducati Monster forks reduce weight, and the gear change is taken care of by an air-shift push button system with a rechargable air tank fitted under the seat
  • It has enjoyed much success in the 'normally-aspirated up to 1,000cc class' at National Sprint Association events along with class wins at Brighton Speed Trials
  • Supplied with a huge file of history and receipts for parts used and work carried out, along with instructions for use and results achieved
