1994 Porsche 911 (993) Cabriolet - Manual

It is often said that each decade received the Porsche 911 it deserved and yet it remains today the only sports car that still retains styling elements that are identifiable 60 years on. Launched in 1994, the 993 Series marked the end of air-cooled 911 production and Porsche engineers redesigned their standard-bearing model from the ground-up to such an extent that only around 20% of its parts were carried over from the previous generation. British designer Tony Hatter's penmanship effortlessly combined subtlety and road presence for a changing demographic with an expansive option list to match the individual’s enthusiasm.

Naturally there was more power from the 3.6-litre M64 engines, but along with the increase in performance came a brand new all-alloy subframe carrying coil and wishbone rear suspension, finally banishing the dreaded lift-off oversteer. For the first time, a 6-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed Tiptronic gearbox were made available.

Finished in the classic combination of Grand Prix White with a Midnight Blue leather interior, this last of the air-cooled Porsches has travelled 86,220 miles. The colour is further enhanced by its immaculate blue hood and manual 6-speed gearbox making it the perfect specification for a new owner to enjoy the upward trajectory of the last of the real Porsches. Equipped with PAS, ABS, electric windows, electric mirrors, air conditioning/climate-control and original 4-spoke leather steering wheel.

The comprehensive history file contains invoices back to the first owner and work conducted by Charles Ivey of Fulham virtually from new. The file also contains all previous MOTs corroborating mileage and invoicing relating to servicing throughout its life. Most recently it had an interim service in June 2024 by MFR Classic and Performance Cars who have looked after it for a number of years.

It still retains its original factory build/identification sticker under the front compartment lid, driver’s manual and wallet, hood tonneau, compressor and jack. All in all a lovely original Carrera 993 Cabriolet ready to enjoy and one of the all-time great Porsches with open top motoring to boot.
