SUMMARY

A well-presented example of Honda’s iconic four-cylinder superbike, comprehensively restored in 2004 to a high standard. Good history file including restoration invoices, photographic records, expired MOTs, and V5C. Will require recommissioning prior to active use.

DESCRIPTION

  • When Honda unveiled the CB750 at the 1968 Tokyo Show, it irrevocably changed the landscape of motorcycling. For the first time, a mass-produced, affordable four-cylinder motorcycle offered levels of performance, refinement, and reliability previously reserved for exotic machinery. Its overhead-camshaft engine, electric starter, 5-speed gearbox, and disc front brake rendered much of the existing competition instantly obsolete, earning the CB750 its reputation as the world’s first superbike
  • The model evolved gradually, and it was not until 1975 that a significant update appeared in the form of the CB750 F Super Sport. With café racer-inspired styling, a four-into-one exhaust system, and a rear disc brake, the F model brought a sharper, more sporting edge to Honda’s already formidable flagship
  • This 1981 CB750 F was fully restored by a previous owner in 2004, with the work carried out to an excellent standard. A substantial collection of invoices from David Silver accompanies the machine, supported by two CDs containing detailed photographic documentation of the restoration process
  • Our vendor purchased the motorcycle in July 2006 and has since used it only occasionally, reserving it for special outings
  • Today, the Honda remains in very good overall condition, with only two small dents to the fuel tank noted. Having not been used for the past four years, the bike will require routine recommissioning before returning to regular road use
  • Supplied with a V5C, expired MOT certificates, and comprehensive restoration paperwork, this CB750 F represents a compelling opportunity to acquire a restored example of one of the most influential motorcycles in history
