SUMMARY
Part of the Jim Richardson Collection. Built in late 1977 as a 1978 model. Purchased by Jim and enjoyed for 44 years. Just 17,922 miles from new and remains in good original condition but will require some gentle recommissioning and safety checks prior to returning to the road.
DESCRIPTION
- The 1978 Triumph Bonneville represents the pinnacle of the Meriden-era Bonnevilles, combining classic British styling with dependable performance and a relaxed, rideable character
- Powered by a 744cc parallel-twin engine producing around 46bhp, the Bonneville offered smooth, tractable power for spirited road use, making it one of the most versatile motorcycles of its time
- This example is a British-spec bike, with the UK-market only 'coffin' tank and was built in late 1977 as a 1978 model
- It's matching numbers and is finished in the distinctive 1978 colour combination of Tawny Brown over Gold
- The 'Bonnie' was purchased locally by Jim in 1979 from its original owner, when it was less than two years old and owned by him for 46 years
- It has covered just 17,922 miles from new and remains in good original condition, with a nice gentle patina acquired over the years
- Supplied with a current V5C (Historic), MOT history until 2017 and a large folder of paperwork with old V5Cs, MOTs, invoices etc.
- Not used in the last couple of years, so will require some gentle recommissioning and safety checks prior to returning to the road
- Being offered without reserve
