An original and unrestored US model TX500 (XS500 in the UK), matching numbers and in running order.
DESCRIPTION
- The Yamaha TX500 was introduced in 1973 and was only in production for a short time
- Powered by a 500cc DOHC twin cylinder 4-stroke engine and capable of over 100mph
- The bike successfully competed directly against the aging British manufacturers at the time but wasn't a huge sales success
- Overall the bike sold well enough throughout the USA and Europe. Yamaha changed the name to XS500 in 1975 and over the years it has become a cult basis for custom bikes based on the reliable engine and frame
- This original example was imported from the USA in 2018 and is now UK-registered and in running order
- Original paint and matching numbers and retains its original exhaust system
- Was decommissioned for storage but now fitted with a new battery is ready for action in 2026
- Rare bike in such original condition
- UK-registered on a current V5C
