SUMMARY
Fabulous 1964 Morris Mini carefully built and presented as a Downton Mini Cooper 1275 S replica.
DESCRIPTION
- Purchased by our vendor as a genuine Downton 1275S at auction in 2017. Further research has shown this Mini was built on a donor shell and assumed the identity of KA2SA552514 by a previous owner, and carries registration number 850 MCG. As such our vendors have made the expedient decision to offer the car as a 'Downton Cooper 1275 S replica'
- The car has had sympathetic restorations over the years, most recently a bare metal respray in 2017 by Paul Preston with subsequent reassembly by Aston Works
- In 2002, the engine was re-bored to 1,293cc and fitted with 1.5" SU carburettors, the Cooper S wheels refurbished, the seats re-trimmed in Tartan Red and grey/gold brocade and features such as the aluminium doors, bonnet, door cards and heated windscreen together with a Downton rally dashboard were fitted
- The vehicle is running and has been garaged and used sparingly since the most recent restoration works
- This is not a matching number mini, it is a pure replica of a period Downton mini
-
The V5C registration document describes this car as a 'Morris Mini Cooper S' and we invite and encourage interested parties to view this remarkable Mini and form their own opinions about its potential
