SUMMARY
A remarkably well-presented MG A Roadster, absolutely on-the-button and benefitting from recent investment.
DESCRIPTION
- Handsomely presented in Chariot Red with black leather upholstery, a timeless colour combination that perfectly suits the elegant lines of the MG A Roadster
- Introduced in 1955 as a dramatic departure from the TF, the MG A’s sleek, low-slung bodywork marked a new era for MG and quickly established the model as one of Britain’s most successful post-war sports cars
- Powered by MG’s proven B-Series four-cylinder engine, renowned for its durability, eager character and excellent parts support, making the MG A as usable as it is collectible
- Period road tests praised the MG A for its crisp steering, strong braking and composed handling, The Motor magazine recording a top speed of over 95mph and 0–60mph in around 16 seconds — impressive performance for the era
- 'On-the-button' following recent investment, presenting as a car that is ready to be enjoyed immediately rather than requiring further fettling
- Works with an MG specialist garage include both inner wishbone bushes and arms, top and bottom bolt kits, fuel pipe, rear brake cylinders, carburettor overhaul, water pump, coolant hoses and a full service totalling £1,582 in 2023
- Fitted with brand new Dunlop-style racing alloy wheels, subtly enhancing the sporting aesthetic while retaining a wonderfully period-correct appearance
- The open Roadster configuration remains the purest expression of the model, offering wind-in-the-hair motoring combined with a surprisingly refined long-distance touring capability
