SUMMARY
A very smart and well engineered classic racing motorcycle built up with the right parts and raced successfully. Now retired for a few years, it will require a light recommission prior to its next grid appearance.
DESCRIPTION
- Previously formed part of a private collection of landmark racing machines from all eras including an RG500 and RS250
- Along with the other bikes, it was campaigned successfully in Classic Motorcycle Racing Club events by a well regarded gentleman racer
- The bike appears to have been carefully built using all the right parts including Gibson exhaust, Koni shocks, AP brake parts, steering damper, 500 Goldstar motor with through head bolt upgrade
- Eligible for many series, it had previously raced in Gold Star Owners Club events
- Frame number stamped into the headstock shows a Mk2 model with number present
- Paddock stand shown in the image forms part of the sale, unknown actual model year c.1957 – in a 2000 race meeting programme it was recorded as a 1972
