SUMMARY

A sought-after ‘works’ specification 'S' with increased performance and high-level exhausts. Believed to be one of only five in the world. Restored at some point and still presenting well, the engine turns over with good compression. A rare opportunity to acquire the ultimate iteration of the MB250.

DESCRIPTION

  • Introduced in the mid-1950s, the Adler MB250 quickly earned a reputation for advanced engineering and impressive performance, but it was the MB250 S that represented the pinnacle of the range. Regarded as the ‘works’ specification, the S model benefitted from increased power and its signature high-level exhaust pipes, giving it a purposeful appearance that set it apart from the standard machines.
  • This example was first registered on 6th December 1955 and is accompanied by a continuation 'buff' logbook, recording its sale through Comerfords of Thames Ditton and later the London Motorcycle Centre in 1973. It was acquired by Terrence Donovan before being purchased by the late Robin Haigh in August 1999, providing an appealing and traceable ownership history.
  • Restored at some time, the motorcycle remains in good overall condition, retaining the correct character and detailing expected of the S variant.
  • The engine turns freely with compression, although the machine has not been used for a number of years and will require recommissioning before a return to the road.
  • Rarely offered and highly regarded among collectors, this is a superb opportunity to acquire the definitive MB250 — a technically interesting, historically important German sporting motorcycle from the golden era of post-war design.
  • Offered with V5C, expired MOT certificates and tax discs.
