DESCRIPTION

  • Royal Enfield, based in Redditch and best known for producing engines, cycles and firearms, turned their hand to motorcycles way back in 1901
  • By the First War, they had established themselves as one of Britain's most popular vehicle manufacturers
  • Post-WWII, the Model G and Model J models were revived and featured a rigid rear frame and a 4-speed Albion gearbox
  • This 1950 Model J example is presented in restored and running order
  • Forming part of a consignment of machines produced for the Milk Marketing Board
  • Dispatched in December 1950 with copies of the Council registration book included
  • Large history file with numerous receipts, copies of original council registration info, copy manuals and some receipts
