SUMMARY

Based on the 1946 GMC Pick-Up and finished in the style of Steve Darnell's WelderUp creations, this splendid 5.7-litre 'Rat Rod' would be great on the show circuit or would look equally at home outside Tesco collecting the weekend's shopping!

DESCRIPTION

  • Based on a 1946 GMC E-Series Pick-up, this 'Rat Rod' looks like it's led a hard life delivering Moonshine for The Skull Duggery Haulage Company or would equally look at home on the set of Deliverance
  • Imported from San Francisco, retaining its original all steel bodywork throughout with a chassis and underside as clean as the exterior
  • Subtly chopped roofline, So Cal suspension all round and disc brakes to the front
  • New chassis supporting a Chevrolet 350ci (5.7-litre) small block crated engine rated at 330bhp, with only c.1,700 miles covered since installation
  • Equipped with a 4-barrel Holley carburettor and chrome Edelbrock top-mount air intake
  • Heavy-duty TH400 automatic transmission with recently fitted oil cooler
  • Fully serviced very recently – engine oil and filter, gearbox oil and filter, rear differential oil, plus new gaskets fitted throughout
  • New timber bed liner and large capacity fuel tank fitted neatly in the bed
  • Despite the bodywork looking like it had survived a Tornado in Kansas, it was professionally finished in clear coat within Lewis Hamilton’s Formula 1 paint booth at Mercedes-AMG Petronas in Brackley
  • Aircraft-inspired bomber seats fabricated in metal – surprisingly comfortable – with key-start and electronic ignition
  • Sensibly guided considering what it would cost to replicate
  • We appreciate that this 'Rod' will not be to everyone's taste but, if you get it, you get it. There’s cool and then there’s this!
